Does anyone believe in Psychics?

Does anyone believe in their 'gift'? Do you believe they all get the info from an evil way? Just curious on everyones thoughts.

All they do is get you to answer your own questions without you knowing you are doing it and then reword what you just said.. Saw a documentry on this biggest con artist ever..LOL even the psychics know it is not real..

Re: Does anyone believe in Psychics?

I believe that people can be "sensitive" and occasionally God will give someone true information in the form of a prophecy or "word of knowledge" (however RARE that is) but I do NOT believe in psychic ability as it is portrayed by the swarms of kooks out there who are willing to read your palm or tell your fortune.

Even those who are constantly claiming a word of knowledge from God are (in the vast majority of cases) personally deceived or flat out trying to put one over on the "overly trusting" who dare not question the Man of God.

I was very critical of these people. However, I listened to one this A.M. and he said DO NOT feed me info. The people he was reading for have a radio show and he had never met the people and he was dead on with a lot of things. Even described the exact place where on the parents of a person on the show died. The psychic lives in another state and never met the radio guys. Pretty interesting really. Not sure whether I now believe in them. But I do believe that not all of them get the info from an evil source. This guy gave glory to God for the 'gift'.

Sure, but does it ALWAYS pay to be a cynic? If God is ALL powerful it is that unbelievable that He would allow this stuff to happen? Again I am not saying I would got to one or anything but don't think that all of them are 'kooks'.

Sometimes the most obvious answer to something like this is SO obvious that we, as thinking adults, go "there has to be another explanation".

What is the "secret"? The callers were planted and/or had the radio screener feed the info to the guest psychic ahead of time.

Re: Does anyone believe in Psychics?

Has anyone seen the movie The Prestige (staring Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale)? They were both magicians and Bales character did an illusion called the Transported Man where he instantly "transported" 20-30 feet from one box to another. Most of the movie follows Jackmans fascination and obsession with the trick and its secret. Of course he told other characters that it could not be as simple as a "double" for this and that reason, so he ruined his life over it. At the very end, guess how it was done? A double. (Bales character had a twin.)
