Stinginess Beyond Measure

"Oseola McCarty, a poorly educated African-American laundry woman in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, gave more to charity in one gift than our Vice-President has given in his lifetime. Last week's release of the Bidens' tax returns reveals a troubling character weakness. Stinginess. Unrelenting shameless stinginess."

"On the other hand, consider Vice-President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, who have given about 0.2% of their income to charity in each of the years between 2000 and 2008. Less than ½ of one percentage point given to persons in need, to ministries of their Catholic Church, to agencies that serve the poor and the hurting. In fact, this year they gave a total of $1885 to charity, marking the first time they had even given a sum larger than $1000 for the entire year. In every year of this decade, the Bidens' income has exceeded $200,000, and for the first time they gave away more than $1000 of their own money. Astonishing stinginess. Record-setting, in fact."

"...it is important to note that the Obamas now are only tied for last with President Reagan for the least generous presidents since 1969. Reagan and Obama are so far below the giving levels of Carter, Clinton, and both Bushes, that comparison is nearly impossible."

I am less concerned with what they are doing with their money and more concerned with what they are doing with my money.

Well it is amazing that those who give the least force those of us who do give, to give more to causes we don't support.

Here is a perfect example:

The folks at Live Action Films have done it again. http://www.liveaction.org/

Planned Parenthood is not only dangerous to the health of unborn babies, it appears that they are also brazenly stupid about their legal duty to report child sex abuse.

In a video released today, a Memphis Planned Parenthood counselor is heard instructing a girl she believes to be 14 years old on how to lie to a court about her boyfriend's age.

"I'm 14," she said, "he's 31"

The counselor understands that sex between a 31 year old and 14 year old is a crime in Tennessee, and even indicates some sense of the wrong of his actions. But she tells the 14 year old to lie when she applies for judicial bypass consent for her abortion:

"Just tell them your boyfriend is 17."

Federally funded. Baby-killing. And the best friends of Chester the Molester.

I read the article this morning. I was very surprised to see that Reagan wasn't a big giver either.

Maybe that's why they are democrats. Their philosophy is that the government is the charity which takes care of the poor.

Reminds me of a book, Godless: The Church of Liberalism
