Ft Walton Beach, FL - Please Recommend Restaurants
 
In a few weeks we will be going to FL. Please recommend restaurants and things to do besides just the beach in the Ft. Walton Beach and Destin area. I know about the Dolphin Cruise, Destin Commons, etc. and did a search at TripAdvisor of best restaurants in the area. However, I would appreciate anyone who can give personal accounts of restaurants, etc.

Jane, if you are in Destin, isn't that close to Mobile, Alabama? We have a couple of people from that area on here.

I've been watching this thread all day waiting to see if anyone was going to answer you. Maybe nobody lives in the Ft. Walton Beach area??

I'd help you, but hey! I live in Ohio. Now if you came up here, I could take you to some very great places!

All I can think of is how much time I would be spending on the beach..... And I am sure that there are MANY good restaurants to be had, simply be driving around.

If it is still there it is closer to Destin, but Louisiana Lagnape (sp) is very good! It has been a ton of years since I was there. My father has been there with in the past year. I will ask him and let you know.

Definitely go to the huge Irish place right across the bridge coming from Destin to Ft. Walton. I think it's called McGuire's. It's awesome! I am a huge fan of Shepherd's Pie and theirs is SO good. Everything we've ever had there is good though.

Yes....It is not very far from Mobile. We haven't been to that area in quite a few years. I am sure everything has changed much.

Is that made out of human shepherds or german shepherds?
