My daughter is expecting twins in Nov, YEAH !!!!!!

She is not taking any of the recommended genetics testing.

Simply because even if they told her that the kids were not going to normal, they would not abort.

I am an RN and do private duty nursing. The families of two of the children I cared for were encouraged to abort and chose not to.

My sister had a baby boy (named Robbie) with a birth defect--I think it was spina bifida. She carried him almost full term, and he lived for a few days. They had him unhooked from life support, when it became apparent he couldn't survive. I was there in the room when my sister held him in a rocking chair while he passed away.

I'm sure, given the choice, (if you asked her) she would still rather have had the chance to hold him, and let him pass away in her arms, than to violently end his life in abortion.

I was 36 when I was pregnant with my 4 year old---I was pressed to have tests but it was never an option--she was born with Cornelia DeLange Syndrome--God made her the way he wanted her and I would have never even concidered tests or abortion. Of course when I was expecting my little boy they wanted me to have tests especially because of Bridget--again not an option--I put my trust in the Lord--he blessed us with a healthy boy who is 15 months now.

I was surprised that so many felt pressured to have an abortion, especially when there isn't always proof that anything is wrong.

That is beautiful Miss B, and exactly as it should be done. May God be praised, He is the giver of life both now and in the life to come. Your sister will hold Robbie again and He will be perfect.

How old is Bridget now and how is she doing? God gave you her life to steward, and He is no doubt doing growth in you that would not have come about any other way. May He show you all the paths He has set before you, and give you the strength and courage to become all He has purposed for you. I've known far too many women who were counseled to abort because they saw some sort of abnormality in the tests before the baby was due, only to carry the baby to term and find out that there was absolutely nothing wrong.

And besides that, if you gave birth to a normal child and then at age 5 they were involved in a terrible car accident which resulted in them ending up quadrapalegic (I know that's not spelled right! sorry). Would you love that child any less? Of course not!

Or suppose you raised a child to adulthood and then they developed schizophrenia. Do you love them any less? NO!!

Or say they get cancer at some point? Are they less loved?

So why would you love an unborn child less just because someone told you they weren't perfect? Do we love them because they are perfect? Or do we love them because God gave them to us to love?
