Jack Graham & The Emergent Church
This past Sunday I listened to Jack Graham's program on T.V. The things he spoke about captured my attention:
1. The Emergent Church 2. Relavatism 3. Constructive Relativism 4. Post-Modernism 5. Keeping the law of God/10 commandments verses legalism He had very good points: * The Bible does not teach relativism; It is black and white. Truth is not situational is is forever settled in heaven. *Post-Modernism promotes situational ethics and there is no absolutes. This is contrary to the Bible. * God wrote the 10 commandments in stone in the Old Testament, but int he New Testament he fulfilled the law and wrote it on our hearts. This does not absolve us of keeping the 10 commandments, but it clarifies even to the thinking about murder or adultery or wanting another's possessions makes you guilty. I will have to say that my conservative roots came out of me and I totally agreed with him:). For years I have watched Charles Stanley, as I love teaching of the word, and this was the first time I listened to Jack Graham but he did an excellent job of bringing out his points. I did not take written notes therefore I may not have explained as he did, but I did enjoy adn agree with him. Blessings, Rhoni |
