Anyone Talk to God Lately?

I have little faith in prayer. I didn't say no faith, just little faith. So I would like to know for all those mighty prayer warriors out there who talk to God on a daily basis, what has God told you? Does God even speak anymore? Please share your testimony of when God has spoken to you.

That "Footsteps" poem and picture that was all the rage for so many years was so common that I had to avert my eyes every time I walked into a room and saw it hanging on a wall.

But.... it is still so true!

I know this in hindsight, looking back at the miracles which were taking place when I didn't have a clue what was going on. I heard nothing but silence too, but NOW know that God was listening to every little word and thought. Even from my pre-teen years!

I do question those who hear from God daily or weekly though. Usually it is more of a mood-of-the-hour or based on what they had for dinner.

Yes he still speaks. Told me the othe day to keep my focus on him and not my own weaknesses to have a victorious walk....like Peter did on the water before looking at the storm.

I was also inspired to text this to a brother and at the very moment I sent it he needed to hear it.

In my opinion, a relationship with God is a very personal thing, and not something that can be dissected on a forum.

I can't prove to anyone that I hear from God. I have no desire to try. The only way anyone will ever know what it means to have a relationship with God is to have one for themselves.

The Bible says that anyone who comes to God must do so through faith.

DM, no one can convince you of God's providence or personal attention. You must experience it for yourself.

And He isn't a candy store. It's a relationship with give and take. He doesn't say "yes" to every prayer--although sometimes He does. Trusting God takes conscious choice and effort, and it's rewarding. In fact, I remember a scripture that says He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

I don't recall it saying He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek out what He can DO for them. There's a difference between pursuing God, cultivating a relationship with the Creator, just for the sake of knowing Him, and pursuing a relationship with God just so one can have the potential fringe benefits.

how did He tell you this? was it an audible voice, a scripture impression, or a spiriual impression in your mind? If it was the latter, how do you know it was God?

:D

No one can convince another of the validity of faith. Faith is simply a risk. If you don't take the risk, it really isn't faith.

I beg to differ, some people risk on the stock market, others at a gambling table, still others on false religions & philosophies--that's risk.

Faith however, true Faith is taking God at his word!:thumbsup
