For Single Guys
How do you all cope with those days when temptation is ever before you?
Today, it's like I don't even want to fight, pray or anything. So I prayed anyway, and the battle subsided for a little while. But WOW-- and I had such an AWESOME time in Church on Sunday too! I guess this is to be expected. It's not like I'm new to this.... |
Re: For Single Guys
Are you praying that God would send you a wife?
I cope with my single issues by keeping myself busy. Lately, I have taken a few classes on things that interest me. That is the best tactic for me. |

yeah my temptation sometimes sidetrack from accomplishing anything. I need a wife-- or for my mind to change or something. The whole thing gets frustrating. |

Re: For Single Guys
Be encouraged. When your single you do what you want when you want. When your married, and especially after having children there is so much demand on your time, that you rarely do something you want to do. Not that being married is bad, it is nice to have people whose highlight of the day is when you walk in the door. But I am just saying that whether one is single or married, there is always a little bit of thinking the grass is greener on the other side.
As for temptations, as long as your in flesh there will always be things to battle, but remember ultimately you are in control of what you do. |

Re: For Single Guys
I do NOT mean for this to sound flippant, but rather legitimate advice:
eHarmony DOES work. Have you tried it or something similar? The four walls of your church are usually (nearly always) not the best place to begin a search like this. |
Re: For Single Guys
There is a technicality for me on this discussion but I will chime in some more because I am single.
I know married people sometimes are overtaken by the cares of being married so they feel like they know how easy it is to be single sometimes as opposed to being married. However, I submit that if one has been married for a good number of years then it is really difficult to understand the need one may feel for companionship. That need includes love, conversation, touch, partnership in life and the marriage bed and children. We are human. For me personally, after around age 27 the single thing had become old. God said it wasn't Good for man to be alone. I would say that was for a number of reasons. Marriage is a partnership in life designed to help each other walk through life in happy, sad and difficult times. |

Well if I don't meet her in church, what are the chances of her being "Apostolic"? I can tell you what the chances are of meeting a Christian who is not Apostolic and witnessing her Apostolic conversion.... I have met several very attractive ladies who are not Apostolic. Every time, our relationship has failed. I am Apostolic and I want an Apostolic wife. I am sure that "E-Harmony" does not have an Apostolic section. |
