Anyone interested in SiriusXM Radio?

Hey All,

I just wanted to let you know that I am interning at SiriusXM this summer, and they offered a deal to all friends and family of interns. They are giving away free radios to new subscribers. I don't get anything, it's just an offer that I am throwing out to you.

And if you are interested, I am working on Kids Place Live channel 116, or 868 on DirecTV (not that anyone here has that!:gotcha)

PM me if you are interested...

If you have sirius xm built into your car do you pay another subscribtion for a portable radio?

I thought $13.00 per mo was steep even tho there were a zillion channels b/c I only listened to maybe 4. They let me do a $20 for 4 or 5 mo deal but
after that I thought $13 was too high. Can you pay less for fewer channels?

I have it in my car also but would love to get a portable unit that we can have in the house and my wife can take with her.

considering that the only time I listen to radio is in my car and that is not very much time in a day I would spend, that much money is too much for me

I believe that both of the units that are giving away are car units. I don't know a lot more than that. if you want the details, PM me and I can forward you the Info. My job is to entertain kids, answer phones, and whatever else the kids station needs. :)

We have had Sirius for a few years now, we have it in both of our cars and one of the ones in the car is the style that you can connect in the house. I also have a portable that is like a large ipod, it picks up the satellite signal as well as a wireless signal, and you can load mp3's on it as well. You can also listen online, which I do sometimes at work. You get all the NFL, NBA, games if you have XM you get MLB but not on Sirius yet and maybe not at all since MLB wants more than the 60 mil they have already got from XM and it may disappear from XM radios after the contract expires.

They also have political talk shows, with stations dedicated to the right and the left. Hannity, Levin, and Bill Bennett are the big names but some of the lessor known that are exclusive to satellite are really good. They also have several sports talk stations, A Catholic talk station (which actually is really good at times), A Southern Baptist station (The Catholic channel is often better). Hey when will they get a Oneness station anyway?

The negatives are that not all stations are available online, I think all the music ones are but not things like NFL, and NBA that has do to with broadcast rights or something (or so they said when I called to complain that I wasn't getting the game on my computer at work).

I have it in the car and a portable unit that I use when I walk. It is expensive, but I love the choices it gives you. When you travel, you do not have to constantly change the dial. It is a luxury that would be the first to go if we had to cut back.

It certainly gives you a ton of options.... Now if I actually listened to more than the 5 stations I currently do! LOL

At this point, I am a call screener in the mornings, I do a lot of sound file editing, I seg shows, and I get insulted by a chipmunk.

Today I worked on a commercial for the internship program, I have also written numerous scripts that will potentially become production pieces (sort of like commercials).

And this is only my second week out of 10! I am so thrilled to be doing it.
I actually had to make a choice between interning in a Congressman's office on Capitol Hill or XM, I struggled with the choice before I made it, but I haven't looked back since walking in the first day! :thumbsup
