FaceBook Viruses

Apparently people are getting sent links from friends and they link to an infected file. Been happening for a while now.

This one is about phishing...where you go to a phony site and someone steals your password and other information you entered thinking it was the real site

Nobody on the internet should be unprotected.

Yep, those are making the rounds on facebook.

Definitely don't go there without protection-- I got two attempts from a hacker earlier this evening when logged in on facebook. Luckily, my firewall was better than the hacker-- and blocked the attempts.

When I sold a camera lens to a little old lady and she mistakenly sent me a cashier check for $500 more then the asking price, I KNEW I was doing the right thing by cashing it and sending back the difference!

LOL!!! I am amazed that people actually fall for those scams. Just because your bank cashes a cashiers check does not mean that a few weeks down the road when it turns out to be fraudulent they are not going to come back and charge it against your account. It is hard to believe people don't realize that.

I am more interested in getting those hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars that nice Christian widow in NIgeria wants to send me anyway!

Besides since I have won the UK lottery about a dozen times in the past year I am not hurting for money.

My job and profession is actually in network security. I live and breath it. However securing a network is EASY compared to trying to bat down the social engineering attacks. You can make your companys network impenetrable from any outside electronic attack, but the secretary at the front desk who is all too willing to give out the bosses password (or less private info which is then used to get ANOTHER secretary to divulge the real info) is the weak link.
