Johnny Garrison. Does anyone know him?
 

Does anyone know how to contact him. He used to pastor UPC in Charlotte NC. He was a missionary in Africa and is supposed to be living in Indiana. I hear he was disfellowshipped from the UPC or that he left, whatever. We would like to invite him to speak at our church when he visits Charlotte. Help.....?

I saw him a couple of weeks ago. I am not sure of the specifics pertaining to his circumstances in this area (mid-atlantic), but I can commit to getting a letter/invitation to him through, at the very least, a mutual friend who he has more regular contact with. I may still have a window of time to deliver it directly. I do not have a close association, we just happen to have a circumstance that overlaps.

If you can PM me your invitation and greetings I will commit to making every reasonable effort in delivering it to him.

So is he a conservative or lib? 99.7% of people leaving the UPC are one or the other. Generally they leave because either the UPC is not conservative enough or is too conservative.

Where did you hear? I heard one tape of him that I transfered to dvr and made a CD from called "out of control" (meaning flesh) it was awesome.

I don't know the circumstances of him leaving the UPC if in fact he has. But judging from the "out of control" message he has a problem with the "flesh" in the UPC.

He said that while he was in Africa for 20 years, that the church (upc) had changed so much and become "fleshly."
