Open Code Frontpage Editor
With Open Office and so many other apps available...
Is there an open code app for editing Microsoft FrontPage websites? |

Here is a few. This one is not free, but inexpensive with a visual editor. You can try it free for a while https://www.coffeecup.com/html-edito...FSgYagodIz3_Cw They do have a free editor too and a free menu builder https://www.coffeecup.com/freestuff/ Evrsoft is a nifty HTML editor with a huge help file and some jscripts too http://www.evrsoft.com/ |
Re: Open Code Frontpage Editor
BTW I used to use the evrsoft editor when it first came out years ago. I liked it though it was buggy. The new one is much better

Re: Open Code Frontpage Editor
I use Notepad 5.1+ (if that is current version).

Re: Open Code Frontpage Editor
I've used notepad too, but an HTML editor is a lot faster and easier to check to see how it looks

Re: Open Code Frontpage Editor
bump
BTW if you want to pay, expression MS's new replacement for frontpage, is pretty nifty |
Re: Open Code Frontpage Editor
You notepad users should check out Notepad++. Open source, color coding for many languages, lots of plugins. Great stuff.
These days, I agree it would be easier to start from scratch vs editing a FP site. Check out some of the online web builders like weebly.com. They make it very easy- even to add shopping carts and such. I have decided to use Wordpress as my platform for almost site I need to build. There are plugins that allow it to be configured more like a site and less like a blog. |
Re: Open Code Frontpage Editor
Thanks for all the suggestions guys...
I have edited before with Notepad but would prefer not having to fight with all that fp code. I saw a link to expressions from our web service provider but it said that I could save $200.00. I don't click on things that tell me I can save more than I can afford. LOL Generally if I save $200.00 I won't be spending $15. :) I will look into Coffeecup... it seems like I might have used that years ago. |

You should be able to preserve the basic HTML code of the site. I think the main thing that does not work is the themes BTw try the other one I posted too, It should be fine. If you want to build from scratch, there are many simple options like what was said about WordPress....though all WP sites I have seen made into webpages still have that blog feel/look Also if you are Oneness UPCI.NET looks nifty |
