Snap Age Day Theory of Creation
Someone Please help. I heard this theory a long time ago and used to have the notes but I cannot find them. It was a theory that had some physics theory with it, but reconciled the 6 billion year old earth with a 6 day creation. It was explained by your viewpoint...from Gods view six days...from our view looking back 6 billion years.
It was a jewish mathematician who was teaching this the last time I heard it. And I cannot remember his name or his book that includes the teaching. I googled but only get the standard theories, like age-day, gap, etc. I made the mistake talking about it to a minister and now he wants more info. !!! Arrrrh.... |
Re: Snap Age Day Theory of Creation
Russell Humphrey with the ICR advocated something like this, but it has basically been debunked by his peers -he never formally submitted his theory (perhaps he knew what would happen if he did), but as is usually the case with physics, they get looked at anyways and his math was found sorely lacking.

Re: Snap Age Day Theory of Creation
I answered your pm before I saw this post so maybe my pm is now useless because I addressed something else in my response to you.
I think you are asking how a time period that we would call 6 days could take thousands of years and still be considered 6 days?? Some years back on Zola Levitt he had someone on there that explained it. I never did understand what he was talking about but Zola really seemed to like it. Zola is dead but I think his wife is maintaining his organization and website. You might be able to find his website and find something on there that will answer your questions. |
Re: Snap Age Day Theory of Creation
I am not sure if the man you are asking about has done this, but many make a mistake of trying to reconcile Genesis with geology, rather than first studying Genesis, without any inkling of geological claims, in order to see what the pure text reads and relates to us, in and of itself.
Although the bible is not intended to give us a lesson on geology and answer all our curious questions about where we came from, it did mention enough to help us understand why we need salvation. But the bible is a stand alone book that answers all its own questions, and I doubt we require outside sources to help us know what the Word teaches. Anyway, just something that came to my mind when scanning this thread. Carry on! God bless! |
