Reasons a Saint would take a three month vacation
What reasons do you think a saint might want to take a 3 month vacation from his church?

Re: Reasons a Saint would take a three month vacat
I just took a 3 month, give or take, "vacation" from church all together.
Since I didn't have any real say in the beginning of that vacation, I'll stick with my reasons for extending it as long as I have. I'm not in the mood to get involved somewhere again and find out the people are as fake as a $3 bill. |

I have found some people that are helping me bury the past and move forward in Jesus. Not easy when I face these people just about every day, but God really is there to help me and you too! Post where you are, maybe someone on here will have a suggestion for you. :heart |

No, I have continued to attend church and even post a little on the Internet communities, such as this one. However, I don't try to get too involved (surface stuff mostly), and have not put myself forward within the local congregation. The reason is that I have to do quite a bit of study for the teaching that I do - and I simply do not have the energy nor the stamina to maintain the same level of study (for me, very hard work) that I was able to maintain as few as 20 or so years ago. So, I find that right in the middle of a study, when I get a little under the weather, I will just slip out of the study/teaching mode and mentally and physically rest. Not close myself completely off from everyone and all activities, but simply relax and become more of a spectator (observer) rather than a participant. For example, I exchanged a couple of posts with Prax on another thread. Made a couple of observations, drew a couple of conclusions and made a couple of comments. Nothing to publish or make any waves over - or even to spend a lot of time digging into. Just some issues of interest worthy of consideration and possible future study. All of this to say this: For those who spend a great deal of time searching the word, evaluating it against the Spirit and testing the results with, and in, the lives of people, it can be (and it is for me) a difficult profession, demanding a degree of commitment in time and energy that is difficult to maintain. For those who have a heaver work load than mine, I marvel at how well so many maintain themselves. For others, such as my wonderful sister, Nahkoe, and a few of our mutual friends who have been know to take some "time off" from church (religious) activities and undertakings, we have learned the benefits of "come away to a lonely (dry) place and rest awhile." I had someone give me some advice once concerning this - they drew a picture HERE IS GOD------HERE IS THE HYPROCRITE-----HERE YOU ARE If the hypocrite is standing between you and God the hypocrite is closer to God than you are - there are plenty fakes out there but there are also PLENTY of genuines out there too - focus on that. |

I haven't been to church in a month. Medical reasons. I am glad I don't have anyone harping down my back about it either. :)
