Are WPFers Ignoring Their Bylaws Already?

For years, many of the men who now comprise the WPF complained about the lack of integrity displayed by ministers who signed the UPC's Affirmation Statement, only to ignore its purpose.

It is the primary reason many of the WPFers gave for leaving the UPC.

So... imagine my surprise as I casually perused the Articles of Faith of the WPF and found these little nuggets, which are obviously being ignored by men who agreed, IN WRITING, to uphold these principles carefully crafted only recently. Please understand that no minister can obtain membership in the WPF without agreeing with/to the following statements.

Under the heading Stewardship of Personal Life we find the following...

I will refrain from publicly speaking or writing against any other apostolic/Pentecostal organization. However, I do reserve the right to speak out or write as God would direct me against any sin, trend or compromise which weakens the truth and righteousness of God’s Word and Kingdom.

I will promote revival, support missions, promote unity, avoid discord, and strengthen my brethren in every manner possible.

Obviously, as many have pointed out, there are several men who are completely ignoring this portion of the WPF's AOF.

Are these men suffering from a lack of integrity?

Do we dare level the charge "liar" as they have done to others in the past?

Or do we conveniently ignore the inconsistency, and chalk it all up to conservative passion?

Shalom

If a WPFer was preaching against another organization would anyone ever really know about it?

Do you know the men/churches that are represented in the WPF?

No. But I wouldn't think folks in the UPC would be associating with the WPF much. I do know several men who are independent but go to all the events.

There was gossip that FPC in Jackson had some ties to the group. My former pastor and his wife go to all their retreats and stuff.

just curious, I'm guess you are stating that there has been derogatory remarks? While I've seen numerous letters on this forum, they haven't been from WPF, We attend both meetings, and have never heard anything derogatory from the ministry.

My good friend, I do not know you (at least I don't think I do) however, IMO drive-by remarks such as these are what's wrong with Pentecostalism in general and Apostolics specifically. If you have proof of such activity, please post it here (i.e. name the men and when such remarks etc were made) so that everyone can judge the veracity of such an allegation. If no such evidence exists.....quit sowing discord!

I am not a member of the WPF, however, I have attended many of their meetings, both public and private, and have yet to hear any derogatory remarks about other organizations or ministers.

I find it interesting that people are so quick to broadcast the "inconsistencies" of others but have no problem violating scriptural mandates as well.

What's the latest on handing out spankings for the wayward WPFers? (can I say that?)

There's still a couple of guys that I knew years ago who are on both one of the WPF committee lists and still enrolled at Hazelwood. I was expecting to see them swing a long time ago...

... not that I really wanted to see them swing, mind you. It's just I wanted to see what happened when they did. But they didn't. Now what?
