Bake Sales
What have you found to be your best sellers at a church bake sale?
How did you price the following: Cakes Pies Muffins Candy (fudge) Cookies I'm thinking if I have a lemon cake and an Italian Cream Cheese cake I would charge $10.00 for the lemon cake and $15.00 for the Italian Cream Cheese. Same for pies, I would charge more for pecan than say a chocolate pie. Not sure on cookies, would you sell them by the dozen? Thanks for any input. |
Re: Bake Sales
Our church has 3-400 riding buses. bake sales after worship service go well and cookies by the dozen, singles and units of less than 5 reach their price points. There can be more mark % up in 3 cookies than a dozen.

Did you find one type sold better than another? For instance, chocolate chip, over peanut butter??? Thanks for your response. |

Your cake prices look fine. For your pies, I would charge between $8.00 -$10.00 depending on type, possibly a little more if you make your crust. Cookies - 1 large, 2 med., or 3/4 small $1.00 Bars/Brownies/Muffins - by the slice $0.75 - $1.50 (depending on size) Breads - Whole loaf (such as Banana Nut or Zucchini) $5.00 Small loaves - $2.50 Whole Cakes - $10.00 - $20.00 By the slice - let size determine Whole Pies - $8.00 - $10.00 Anything chocolate tends to sell, so do sweet breads and muffins. Cupcakes don't seem to sell very well; I think because of there messiness. Decorated cookies, and decorated cookies on a stick also seem to sell. Especially w/ children. Choc. Chip cookies always sell, since the peanut butter scare, I don't know how well they will sell. Also, berry pies seem to sell. Well.....that's my 2 cents worth.....HIH. Sinatra |
