How Is Love Shown ?

The bible tells us to love one another,it tells us to love our enemies, and Christians are to be known for the love they show one to another.
The bible also tells us love is patient and is kind.

How do we really show Christian love to those around us ?

There is a very old poem that has these words,
A bell is not a bell until it is rung,
A song is not a song till it is sung,
Love is not really knowed until it is showed.

It might sound corny but there is alot of truth to this.

Well, I'm not sure all around here really know how to show love!

I pray I do, If I don't have the love of Jesus flowing from my life, how can I be His follower ?

My children don't always do everything I am pleased with, but that does not change my love for them.

Love is a VERB! We show love when we, as the Body of Christ, literally become His hands, His feet, His voice and His heart. Once we allow ourselves to be completely submitted to His will and His leading, and serve from the heart of Christ, we will show love...
* In the way we treat our brothers and sisters
* In the way we show compassion and care for the needs of others
* In the way we communicate and demonstrate the love of Jesus to the world.

Good answer!

Also the attitude we take with those that do not agree with us. Condemnation does not seem to be an attribute of love, although it's often invoked in the name of Jesus.

If Jesus is your root, Love will be your fruit!!!!!

Agreed. And we should all be inspecting our fruit trees ON A REGULAR BASIS!

By the way, I did a Thursday Night Bible Study a few weeks back about the fruit of the Spirit, and I used something you stated on here. I appreciate the refreshing spirit of your posts.

Anyway... your statement was "the seed is in the fruit," and it got me thinking and the Lord revealed something amazing to me. If you look up the very definition of a fruit, you'll find that the fruit exists solely for the purpose of reproduction. What distinguishes a fruit from a vegetable or herb is the fact that it contains a seed with the exact DNA of the tree that is fully capable of reproducing another fruit-bearing tree.

Oh, that our fruit would be pleasant and nourishing to those who consume it, and allow that seed (which is the Word of God) to be planted and brought to maturity.

God bless!

Thank you for the compliment! We all need to work more at being refreshing.

In teaching the 11 year old's Sunday, we discussed the the root/vine and the branches. And what happens to the branches that do not produce fruit. The whole tree/vine fruit analogy is awesome when you consider photosynthesis and the capillary systems, and the production of fruit and seed. Bitter fruit is not what should be produce if Jesus is the root.
