Do You Believe and/or Teach that Standards are Heaven-Hell Issues?
Okay, apparently I am naive about this issue, so I'm taking a poll. Please only answer the poll if you are a licensed UPCI minister. (It's open so that can be verified, if need be.)
It has always been my understanding that standards and rules and guidelines were not heaven or hell issues, but rather preferences, protective measures, boundaries, or issues of personal consecration. I was not aware that a large majority of the UPCI ministerial constituency taught these things as heaven/hell issues or salvational issues. I guess I've been in the dark all these years. So enlighten me. |

I am not a preacher, but I have been preached to...

We teach that "standards" are not scriptural as we have been told they are.
We of course then do not think that they would be salvational.....that's just silly. |
I voted "I do not believe standards are salvational, but I teach them in compliance with the organization. "
I live in constant fear that if I do not toe the UPC line I will be thrown out and then I would go to hell. |
