Bars..

Ok to pastors on here a question for ya

Do yall preach about bars and the outside sinful world alot to your congregation...LOL

That seems to be all I hear lately is alot of talk about bars and (The World and how bad it is) I would find it safe to say that the people I go to church with do not go to bars we have a really small church so why preach on it....I did not learn anything biblical yesterday at Sunday school because the preacher was complaining about the Outside world so much..It was a visiting preacher also.

My pastor said this yesterday, "your problem is not going to the casino and losing your money, your problem is not fornicating, your problem is not getting drunk and getting arrested, your problem is that you don't believe in Jesus Christ for your salvation."

Why would someone need to go to a bar?

Nobody needs to (or if they do, they have a problem). But a lot of people enjoy it.

Why would someone need to go to a library? Or the park, or church, or a concert?

I really don't go to bars so I wouldn't know anything about it.

If something is wholesome or productive, I see nothing wrong with recreation or entertainment, but what is wholesome or productive about a bar or a bar environment?

Maybe he was reaching for that one lost sheep among the other 39? It is not uncommon for a Saint to lead a double-life and wear various masks.

Maybe a 'bar' encompasses all efforts involving self-medication outlets?

Can you share what you learned in Sunday School the prior week when it was not a visiting preacher?

Playing pool, learning how to play pool, putting a quarter in the juke box, talking with friends plenty of productivty in a bar...See people always see the glass half empty I choose to see it half full...I always try to look at the positivity in everything...
