What do Obama "Birthers" want?
I'm not taking any position for or against the "birther" movement. This movement purports to be finding out whether or not Obama is legitimately entitled to be president of our United States.
I have read numerous news accounts of actions, law suits, and forgery on many news sites and in several newspapers. What has never been explained to me, is What do they want to happen? If it is proven that Obama is unfit to be president, and they made him step down, that would make Biden president and move Pelosi up to 2nd in line for the office until such time as a new VP is appointed by Congress. I find it difficult if not impossible to believe that the conservatives would rather have either one of these folks closer to being Commander in Chief. This sort of sequence is how we got Gerald Ford to be president. With a Democratic controlled Congress, they sure wouldn't like who the new VP would be either. So, what do the birthers hope to gain, and why are they still bothering? |

I suspect "birhters" have a protective attitude toward the Constitution.
It isnt that they want a conservative in by means other than the decocratic process. I suspect they realize the "devil you dont know may be worse than the one you do" However, in their minds (I am guessing here as I am not one of them) It is far better to protect America and the Constitution than it is to simply leave a non-eligible person in control. Having said that, I do beleive that Barak Obama is the duely elected and perfectly eligible President of the United States of America. I pray that in somewhere just shy of 4 years, the man will exit stage left and a new President will be sworn in. |

It's so strange all of the conservatives scream out how stupid those are that think Bush was behind 9/11 but the idiots called birthers are just people who love the constitution. Go figure. |

Bush ONLY has a 50% approval rating! *gasp* ...one year later... *brightly* Obama still has a 50% approval rating!!!! hmmmm.... I don't agree with the "birthers". Obama was voted in. We may not all agree with him, but he's still President. Perhaps we should all stop talking about him and start praying for him, and for this nation. |

It wasnt "do you think these people are off base" they are off base. Now to what degree, one needs to consider some facts. Bin Ladin has admitted he was behind 9/11. Popular Mechanics has debunked much of the conspiracy theories... scientifically. ALL of the evidence suggests the 9/11 attack was done by terrorists. As for the Obama birther folk, it is interesting to note that there has NOT been a public airing of the evidence. Obama has not produced an authentic birht certificate No Judge has ruled on the evidence. Birthers who have brought lawsuits have been dismissed as not having legal standing to bring the suit. I do not believe that Obama is an illegal alien. I believe he is legally the President of the United States both by vote and by constitutional qualification. But to call both the Birthers and the 9/11 conspiracy theorists the same thing fails to consider the evidence. besides, the orriginal person to say Bush was behind 9/11 was a french dude. you have to be nuts to believe the french on any matter of military import. |

A comprehensive review of the uncounted Florida ballots from last year's presidential election reveals that George W. Bush would have won even if the United States Supreme Court had allowed the statewide manual recount of the votes that the Florida Supreme Court had ordered to go forward. |
