Alternate Apostolic Distinctions!

Jesus said:
Jhn 13:35 By this shall all [men] know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another, and (added in the 20th Century) have the Apostolic distinction of dresses and un-cut hair on women.

Followed by the Apostle's writings:
1Pe 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, [see that ye] love one another with a pure heart fervently: (added in the 20th century) and dress by showing a distinction of the sexes, which means no pants and un-cut hair on women.

1Jo 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. Also (added in the 20th century) let others know you are disciples by your Apostolic distinctions in dress.

If Apostolic distinction in dress is so important, why not try the following for the men (they need to show distinction also):

1. Have all men and boys wear shirts and sportcoats with the UPCI logo embroidered on the pocket. A UPCI logo tie is preferred, but mandatory if the shirt of jacket isn't embroidered.

2. Have someone design a special suit with a large embroidered logo on the back of it, only to be worn by Apostolic men. You must turn in your suit if you backslide.

3. Have all men and boys wear a sideways mohawk haircut. This will show true humility and love for other Apostolic brothers.

4. Have a UPC logo painted or attached to each home's front door.

5. Have a UPC logo painted on the side of each members automobile.

If you do these things, it won't take long before everyone in town will know you by your distinction. They will be able to spot you from a block away! They will be so impressed with your dedication and sacrifice that they will flock to the Apostolic churches in mass.

With the plethora of burdensome dress constraints (the organization) places on its women, I'm frankly suprised you didn't get any female takers on this one Mr. Steinway. :)

I kind of like #2 - because I sort of see this as a Thunderbirds style uniform. The whole polo - crew turtleneck beneath a comfortable and long lasting no-iron jumpsuit really gets one psyched to fight evil.

And the sash/utility belt. If the girls get to wear hat pins like brooches, then the guys should get to wear a leather sash/utility belt.

Why do I suddenly have the notion to watch "Attack of the Clones"?

I prefer something simpler. Here is a distinct look separating the shepherds from the sheep:

There were some outlandish costumes this year at GC.

A few zoot suits with matching shoes and a sister had on a clown looking outfit.

The hairstyles were good for the most part. However the big rolls on top of their foreheads looked ridiculous.

If I did not understand our ways it would look showy.

I perfer modest moderate dressing.

What's to understand? It is showy.
