Vacation Testimony!

Want to share something that good happened this weekend.

We decided to go on a short family vacation, as we have done some extended ministry trips, now it was family time. We didn't have a lot of money, but I was able to put aside some extra cash. I took some time off work, arranged the church to be cared for and then we finalized the trip arrangements.

Then all went wrong.

We discovered Disneyland was hosting Gay, Lesbian Weekend the weekend we decided to go.

Who wants to go there with a family this weekend.

So we elected to go on Friday instead of Sat. and Sunday.

I made Hotel Arrangements through Hotels.com, we arrive at the Embassy Suites and discover they didn't transmit our reservation to the Hotel, so we are sitting there at 12:30am trying to figure out what to do. The guy finally said that he can accommodate us for one night, but they can't do Friday night. So at that point we take them up on the one night, believing that we will find something the next day.

Testimony Time, we wake up with word that they are able to find another room, but he AC doesn't work good for $99 instead of $188, (didn't matter it was cool). The lady who helped us, arranged for her Husband who works with Disneyland gave us his employee tickets, one-day hopper passes for $60.

Also the Hotel ended up being $150 cheaper than Hotels.com

So we ended up saving over $350 for the weekend trip.

The answer is when things go wrong outside your control, look for God to do something great. Even on trivial (not to me) things like family vacations.

Oh by the way, we got a contact now for discount hotel rates and employee discount tickets for disneyland.

Glad it work out, but personally, I'd welcome the opportunity to go to Disneyland during the Gay/Lesbian weekend.

Just how many, % wise, of the customers during gay and lesbian week are actually gay and lesbians?

I know exactly what you are talking about, and I have a couple of things that happened to me on a missions trip to the Philippines.
1. Going thru immigration in Manila. I was in a long line and could tell the lady in the booth was tired overworked and just ready to cause someone some trouble. I knew my paperwork was in order so I was not fearful...but I had a dread approaching this angry looking woman. There were several people in line in front of me but a supervisor in the line next to mine motioned for me to come to his line. It was a line exclusive to those who had special electronic ID cards issued by Manila to frequent travelers. He stamped my passport. I was cleared in less than 30 seconds.
2. My bags were misplaced by Asaian airlines. I spoke to the agent and met my first Philippino christian. He was most helpful and was the first encouraging face I met.
3. Cebu air received my missing bags. John, their manager, spent hours helping track my luggage, even loaning me his personal cell phone to call Manila.
4. I had to spend an extra night in Cagayan De Oro whiile waiting on my bags, and met a nice family who when I told them my story about the bage, invited me to spend the night in their home, a mansion by Philippine standards. Nick, the family son-in-law, cooked me one of the best dinners I had in Philippines.
5. I did open air crusades and was supposed to preach at a local outreach church, but I felt checked about going. The pastor almost begged me with tears to go preach at his church. But I left anyway and traveled by bus to a heavily muslim area. Out of the thousands of people who could have sat by me, an apostolic boy choose that seat! As we talked he went to an apostolic church in a town I had just preached in. I really questioned him to see if he was really "one God" or was catholic. He said, "trust me, I am baptise in the name of Jesus Christ'!

This self-righteous, spiritually-arrogant, moronic comment is EXACTLY why I said that I'd have no problem attending on Gay & Lesbian Day.

Unfortunately, when we steer our families away from events like this, we are calling them "gutter trash" by our avoidance. How incredibly sad. Everyone loves to wear the WWJD bracelets, but when we ask, "Would Jesus have gone to Disneyland that weekend?", I think we get a very, very easy answer.

If this weren't such an idiotic post that perfectly illustrates how awful Christians can be, I'd love for it to be deleted.

So Christians are awefull? Gays say they are. Is it intollerant if Christians say they don't want to be around gays? I read about Lot's wife.
