They Are Coming For Us - Farmageddon!
FARMAGEDDON!
Bird Flu Mad Cow Swine Flu What's Next?? Perhaps this is PHARMAGEDDON?? Have you been vaccinated against this stuff? So far I would rather have the flue than receive the vaccine... |
Re: They Are Coming For Us - Farmageddon!
I got the vaccine for the regular old flu, but I'm not getting the Swine Flu one. My Dr. said that there's not enough evidence about the effects; that it was developed way too fast to be sure. He told me to take a bunch of vitamin D3, and I would be more immune than taking the vaccine.
He said that everyone talks about "flu season", but actually it's there all year. People just don't get enough sunshine (Vit. D) in the cold months, and that's why they're more susceptible. Never heard it that way, but I guess it makes sense. |

As to being vaccinated for the 'regular old flu', you are actually vaccinated against what the 'experts' believe will be the main strain for the year. That's why you have to be vaccinated every year because what you were vaccinated against last year might not exist due to mutation or it's not the main strain this year. People who get sick with the flu after being vaccinated will blame it on the vaccine when, in fact, they might just have a different strain that wasn't vaccinated against. Another misnomer is the pneumonia vaccine. That protects against viral pneumonia, not bacterial, so a lot of people don't understand why they still get pneumonia after being vaccinated. I don't think there is enough education being put out about vaccines, perhaps because they believe people won't bother with getting them. I personally believe that unless you are in poor health or your job makes you more susceptible to illness, you will be fine without the vaccine. Although my job makes me more susceptible, I'm rarely sick, so I don't bother with vaccines. I did take the flu shot twice, and still had the flu one of those years. However, I've had the flu probably 3 times in my entire life. Handwashing is the single most important thing to do to ward against illness. And you are right, Sherri. People don't get out as much in the colder months, so they are sicker during that time of year. |
