Huckabee's Nightmare

4 cops shot in cold blood in a coffee house, by a known felon with a long criminal history ... given a commuted sentence by Mike Huckabee.

The question on my mind, along with the families of the deceased and millions of others is ....

What happened? What was Huckabee and anyone else involved thinking?!

5 FELONY CONVICTIONS
8 FELONY charges
108 year prison term

Now 4 officers are dead ... not sure what the parole board, Huckabee or anyone else was thinking with this guy...

I think he is just a suspect. Not the actual killer.

Wow.

If Huckabee was the one who pardoned this guy....

man.

So there's a Conservative who shows compassion, or maybe even mercy, then this happens.

Not a good thing at all here. It's a shame really.

I am sure that Huckabee had the best intents for everyone involved when he made his decision.

Re: Huckabee's Nightmare

Thus far the reasoning HUck gave for the commutation was that the police, DA, courts etc all did horrendous work and there was justification for the commutation.

They all blew it hard according to him, but in the end we all know this will be thrown in his face if he makes a Presidential run. There will be no looking into the reasoning by the Lib media, only screams of how he let a murderer walk.

What were the "felony convictions?" Violent crime?

He gave the man a second chance...

Re: Huckabee's Nightmare

Sorry, the man was given enough chances. He had 5 felony convictions and 8 total felony charges.

The Huckster may pass the blame to the police and DA ... but he's the one who gave the final ok. The buck, and blame, stops with him.

If the things are true and he did this crime, it is obscene that he was on the street!!!

That's who I thought of right away when I read the first post in this thread.

Re: Huckabee's Nightmare

I was not aware of Huckabee's connection with this incident in WA. I do find it quite interesting that he would make the following statements

"Should he be found to be responsible for this horrible tragedy, it will be the result of a series of failures in the criminal justice system in both Arkansas and Washington State," Huckabee said in a statement issued Sunday.

"If I could've known nine years ago, looked into the future, would I have acted favorably upon the parole board's recommendation?” Huckabee told Fox News Radio on Monday. “Of course not."

I wonder if he was referring to himself when he made that statement. Based on the second statement he is definitely kicking himself :tissue. The troubling thing to me outside of the suspects criminal history is that what Huckabee said. "If I could've know nine years ago, looked into the future"; that is precisely the reason why this man should not have had his sentence commuted, so that nine years into the future this very situation would not have occurred.
