Hello from Indiana

Just brand new to posting, participating here. I don't have any pictures of me to put next to my name yet! I grew up in Apostolic Pentecost and simply played church for many, many years. About four and a half years ago, I got serious about it.
On October 25th, I had the opportunity to stand in the exact spot where I first received the Holy Ghost nearly 40 years ago. It was an experience that I have never forgotten throughout my life. I made a promise to the Lord that I'd go anywhere, anytime, and do anything He asked of me. That Sunday this October, standing in that spot at the altar, I realized I've been all over this country and Canada. I've had the opportunity to do many different things throughout my life. But now, I could stand in that spot as a born-again, Holy Ghost filled, servant of the Living God, knowing where I've been and understanding fully where I yet have to go, knowing what I've done, yet knowing there is so much of the field yet to be harvested.
I am looking forward to spending more time here laughing, crying, praying, testifying and learning as I go. God bless...

Great testimony. Isn't it amazing how we can be in church for so many years and not realize we were never truly born again.

Welcome, Bro. Weaver, in the name of the Lord. I once was a Hooiserr guy myself. Grew up near Jeffersonville, on the banks of the Ohio. Glad to have you, and I appreciate your testimony!

Hi Paul, my name is Lisa, I am also from Indiana. I received the baptism of the Holy Ghost 35 years ago and feel like I really started to know God in just the last 7 years.... wouldn't say I just played church, just was kinda lost in "religion".

Glad you are here. Welcome.

Thanks for all the replies.

There is a lot of truth to spending many years in 'church' and not being born again.

I believe I have relatives in both Texas and Oklahoma, although I don't really know the ones in Oklahoma very well.

I played church off and on for many years, but mostly I was running away from the call of God on and in my life. Yet I can only stand amazed as to how God has used all those years to bring me into the relationship I now enjoy in Him, baptized in His holy name, full of His Spirit!! OK, I'm getting wound up...

Winter has finally arrived here in Northern Indiana! I pray God's rich belssings on all...

As long as all your relatives are FROM Texas, as in a long way FROM Texas then everything is all right!

We (The majority of AFF) have decided to almost excommunicate Texans unless they renounce there Texasinity! They must quit being proud of the fallen star state, they must learn to talk faster, ........

Welcome to the AFF! Have a good time!

PS- Look out for all those Texas posters like TSTEW, Texas Granny, [you], and Falla!
