God loved us. He died for us. He rose again. And He still loves us, all of us, today.

For God so loved us, He sent His son to die for our sins.

Actually, I felt the same way for a long time about God sending his son to die for us. Serving a god that would kill his kid for you isn't very comforting to me. That's one thing I like about oneness-God robed Himself in flesh and came Himself to die for us. He didn't send someone in His place. He came. Now, that's a God I can believe in! :thumbsup

Yep, that is it. I think where many get hung up is the response to the Gospel, which includes every bit of Acts 2:38.

There I said it, got that out of the way.

In 1 Corinthians chapter 15 the Apostle Paul defines the gospel as the death of Jesus for our sins, His burial, and His resurrection.

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

In my opinion, the Gospel is the good news of what Jesus has done for us, not something we might do for Him.

Umm, but God did give His Son. That's what it says.
