Couple of Requests
I'm the director of a food ministry, i.e. food pantry, soup kitchen, at my church. We take prayer requests from those we serve. I received one yesterday about a fourteen month old boy. His leg muscles aren't developing. The doctors are testing to find out why. This is the first time this family has been at our soup kitchen. They weren't there by accident... Pray with me that God will heal the legs of this child as a witness to this family of the reality and power of the Lord Jesus Christ. The difficulty with this is we may never see or hear from these people again. We have a lot of just-passing-throughs we serve at the soup kitchen.
I received another request from one of our workers yesterday. She is experiencing difficulties from a brain injury she sustained many years ago. Almost altzheimer's type symptoms. She is experienced severe pain in the back of her head and says it feels 'bubbly'. I would pray that God intervenes. This woman will not go to the doctor or the emergency room because she has no insurance. Please join me in prayer for the power of God to be manifest in these situations. Thank you and God bless... |

Re: Couple of Requests
Thanks everybody. I didn't get the chance to talk to the lady with the brain injury problem today. However, she was anointed in the name of Jesus in service this morning and had herself a good time in the Lord!
I'm praying that I will get to see the family with the young child again. So many of those people are just 'passing through' and we never see or hear from them again. I really sensed something when I was conversing with the Grandmother Friday afternoon, and I know she was sensing it too. This I do know, whether I ever see them again or not, the seed was truly planted. Maybe somewhere down the road, someone will add the water, then God will grow the fruit and yield the increase! O what a wonderful Savior we serve! |

Today another man and I went to a local hospital to pray for an 80 year old woman. This is a request that came in to the Vineyard Church and the guy from there usually has me accompany him on his calls. One person in the room looked familiar but I had no idea who she was. She told us that we had come to the hospital to pray for her last year when she had pneumonia and she was fine. |
Re: Couple of Requests
So many need confirmation in order to believe. But I believe God is who He says He is and He will do what He says He will do. That family wasn't at our kitchen Friday by accident. I may never know, may never find out, but they will, and they will speak... Oh praise the Lord! Now I'm getting all excited! Thank you Bro. Sam. Isn't God good...

Several years ago I visited a man in a local hospital. His name was Herb. I didn't know him but he had called the church for prayer. He had a wound in his foot that would not heal. Antibiotics did not seem to help and he was diabetic so that compounded it. They were recommending amputation and he did not want to do that. We prayed. We asked God to heal him and to let him keep his foot. Afterwards for a while I wondered what happened and I prayed off and on for Herb. One day the leader of the team called me and said, "Want to see a miracle?" Well of course I did. He told me to meet him at a specific address in an area of town with which I was unfamiliar. I met him there. It was a small independent print shop and it was run by Herb. We went in and talked with him and found out he was a staunch Catholic who knew the Lord and read the KJV regularly and gave out tracts to those who came into his shop. He told us how that the infection in his foot got progressively worse and a young doctor insisted very strongly on amputation. Herb resisted and asked for more time before taking such a drastic action. In a short time the infection was stopped and the foot began to heal up. The doctor was amazed and stated, "There's even indication of new bone growth." Herb took off his shoe and sock and showed us his foot. He was an old man and the flesh of his foot was smooth and young looking. I thought of what the Bible said about Naaman's flesh in 2 Kings 5:14 after he was healed. This was one time we did see the results of our prayers. Often we do not. In praying for people, or in ministering in other ways, some times we have only a brief encounter with them and we have to leave the results up to the Lord. |
