ByPass Surgery for Diabetic

My BIL has a 99% blocked Vein, an 80% and a 70% and three 30% veins that are blocked. They want to do Bypass Heart surgery ASAP. However, he is a very brittle diabetic with no feeling in his feet. In fact, they look black up about 12" on his leg. He is very concerned about them taking the vein frim his leg.

He is in the Hospital waiting to see when they can do the surgery.

His daughter is in CO trying to get out to come here but the weather is not possible to leave today and may not be able to leave tomorrow.

Please pray for this family.

Thanks,

Re: ByPass Surgery for Diabetic

Thank you for your prayers. His surgery is today around noon.

Pray is daughter is able to safely get out of Co. The weather is really bad there. The news said there was blizzard like conditions coming in.

I'm afraid today will be a long day. The surgery is expected to be about 4 hours.

I have been up since 3:30. I iced my carrot cake, and getting ready to make my pecan pie. I have company coming for Christmas and since the hospital is closest to where I live, I may have more unexpected company, which is fine.

As you can imagine there is a lot of stress. His son can't be here due to his work, and only one daughter will be able to make it.

What a day yesterday turned out to be. My BIL had the surgery and instead of a triple they did a quadruple bypass. Came out of surgery seemly doing well.

About midnight they had to go back in due to the excess loss of blood. Seems one of the values are something was leaking, plus having been on Plavix (sp) for some time.

Today he seems to be doing well.

Thanks for the prayers. And his daughter made it in around noon safely.
