He was and is one of my favorite artists across all genres. Never got the chance to see him in person. At the end of a lot of his concerts, he would have the crowd start singing with him, tell them to close their eyes, and walk off stage without any fanfare. He really wanted all the glory to be to God.

Another interesting fact, he had taken a vow of celibacy and a vow of poverty. The royalties from his music went to his home church and they paid him an income in the low to mid $20,000's.

At least he WROTE "Awesome God" instead of being one of the 20 others who sing it on 2-CD compilation after 3-CD compilation after 2-CD compilation.
