Have a good one...
Wow...I've always wanted someone to play fiddle behind me. Oh well, number 243 on the list of 300 things I would like to have done before I die.

I am sure CC1 would agree and be envious too.

This is a continuation regarding music that was under another thread which we did not want to hijack.

Carpenter,
Do you sing and play? People either love the fiddle or hate it...seems to be no middle ground. Brother Don Anglin who is a friend of Brother Steve Epley is doing a CD now of ballad/Gospel music in Southern Gospel category. I am backing him now on this CD, mainly piano/fiddle.

There is another CD which I backed a Brother Don Crow who is also Southern Gospel...same with piano/fiddle...

I have been asked to play with these bands this Saturday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the outdoor singing in Slidell, LA. location: First Pentecostal Church, April 28th...Pastor Bryan

If you're in the area, come play and sing....

It does sound like it would be right up your alley Elder...most here favor country gospel also. My dad who has gone on to be with the Lord loved the fiddle...left 26 fiddles to me as well as six that he made...my brother got all his guitars.

Thank you,Trouvere, hope you can make it. If not, we will be having a tent revival in the Slidell area within the next couple of weeks. The tent revival was scheduled for May 4th but the permits could not be obtained due to the commercial site being changed to residential. So, we have to obtain another location.
What style guitar and piano do you play and which instrument do you prefer?

lot of singing and music...
Had a good turn out for the Mexican theme at First Pentecostal Church in Slidell with Pastor Bryan. My son won the hot pepper contest by eating 9 Habanero (Red) which is one hot pepper - a staggering 285,000 Scoville units! Other contestants were "throwing up", turning red...Brad (my son) eye's were watering with his mouth totally burnt to the point he could not feel it...but hey, he won a small water cooler....:lol..

My personal preference are "Southern Gospel" like on the Gaither videos and also Bluegrass. I'm not much into the "contemporary" stuff that is popular in churches now but I can worship with it. Some of it has great words.

Check out Bro. and Sis Bridges' site for some country, southern, blues, and hip hop. He's an ALJC preacher and they have some CD's:

I have a couple of their CD's.

Brother Ellis,
liked the song the "Horse Trough"....we use a horse trough for baptizing in the tent revivals...
