Square Dancing at Church??

I was shocked to see a Square Dance event being promoted in our Sunday bulletin. I have mixed emotions about this, but it is for a good cause! :D

Square Dance for Missions!

Well I don't think I have mixed feelings at all. LOL

I would be flabbergasted.

What are they thinking?

I would think it would fit right in at "Cowboy" church.

I can't wait to go Home to Marble Falls so I can visit this assembly....

I am trying to fit "power in the Blood" and "The Old Gospel Ship" into square dance format. Not seeing it...

At church?... we are the church. Im not too familiar with sqare dancing, except that I think I have seen women wear big poofy skirts, and men dress like cowboys.
Is square dancing a weight or sin to that would beset us to participate in? I would think it would depend on what all/how it takes place, if it has any wrong(sin) in it.

The mormons been square dancing in their churches for a long time. You might want to check on attending one of their services....... I'm sure you would be welcome....

Wrong or sin? No, I doubt it. Weird? Yes. Definitely.

Well.. the concept, IMO, of weight or sin is that there are things that are wrong and then there are things that, while not wrong, are unwise.

To me this is completely unwise and is opening a door for people that the church just has no business whatsoever introducing people to or furthering their familiarity with.

Not into Square dancing myself but I have no issue with it. We are having a couples only (as in married couples) Valentines Day dance at our church.
