Media Missions Scrapped: Recession or the End?

A close source has reported that the UPCI has "eliminated the Media Missions Dept yesterday because it was 1.7 million in the red". This is on the heels of the millions lost to the almost defunct PPH which is millions in deficit. PPH reportedly is running on a skeleton crew of less than 10 and outsourcing for the most part.

"So in the last year, PPH and MM went the way of the dinosaur ... is this a sign of big trouble or a necessary correction?"

Also, on the way out, reportedly, is MC, Marketing Department Director / Division of Publications, perhaps the man, who some feel .... is for the most part, responsible for the hemorrhaging. Some believe this departure has links to DKB.

Was Jim Yohe right all along? He seemed to have had the foresight that major restructuring needed to happen before millions of the constituency's dollars were obliterated.

In November of 2003 he wrote "Breaking The PPH Monopoly":
http://web.archive.org/web/200502161...3manifesto.htm

And realized that Harvestime, which was swallowed up by Media Missions, needed to be a lot more cost effective and efficient ... He called for the " A UPCI Communications Division", over 6 years ago. They apparently listened but could not keep it going ...

" It’s Time To Dump HARVESTIME!": http://web.archive.org/web/200502161...ymanifesto.htm

How long can this continue without accountability to its constituents?

Is this somehow linked to the overall economy? Or poor administration and stewardship?

In addition, with signficant chatter that DKB has given District Superintendents and boards, in a a recent letter, the greenlight to ask those who don't believe the Message to leave ... and the departure of seasoned ministers and churches to the WPF, Global, et al. .... are we looking at the beginning of the end?

Dan, a couple of questions...

Would the end of the United Pentecostal Church, International bring any sense of satisfaction for you?

I am sorry to be so blunt, but though your investigative abilities have shed light on some areas, and you do have a knack for stirring the attention of us all, I am asking for the second time in as many weeks...

Do you have ANYTHING positive or edifying to say about the UPCI? Is there ANYTHING of a redeeming value you can share?

The constant harangue is quite telling, Dan...

You know, I understand issues with the organization...I have issues of my own.

But I can appreciate those who have learned to walk away with dignity.

We have many on here who were bruised and broken, felt it was time to leave, or were just plain kicked out, YET show respect, time and time again, for what they had.

I guess I'm asking for some balanced reporting...

So I'm asking again...is there a good thing to be said about the United Pentecostal Church, International, or does your "close source" only bring bad news?

...

Any time a new exec comes into an org you should expect to see some reshuffling of the personnel. DKB obviously has his vision of what he wants to accomplish and is interested in getting there.

I can't see blaming MC for the "hemorrhaging" - if you mean the sluggish sales numbers. The marketing guy is primarily an evangelist for the org's overall program. If he has some other vision or can't play ball with the leadership, then he would have been out long ago.

Instead, he ends up being the messenger boy for an organization devoid of any real message. I can only imagine the frustrations that a lot of these guys have gone through. They want an exciting message to deliver to the "troops;" and instead they are assigned the task of inspecting sleepwear and measuring the lengths of sideburns. Any attempt on their part to seek "revival" and a bit of excitement and growth is forever met with stern and unforgiving glares from the leadership.

I've done similar work - but not at that level. I was a lackey for a time for one of MC's predecessors. It's like having a fire in your belly that you can only stoke with watery gruel. With every spoonful you watch as the last few embers smolder and die.

.

That vision would be the world's greatest revival ever ... 21st century will surpass the 1st and 20th century ..... if his message at the installation service is an indication ....

Better let's include the cross this time - like they did in the 1st century.

What is the Media Missions Dept responsible for?
