How do pastor's worship?

It's been a while since I've been to a pentecsotal church, but from what I remember I don't think I've ever once seen a pastor do the shaking around, running around, or any of the other more extreme forms of pentecostal worship. I may have seen a few evangelists do stuff like this, but I can't remember ever seeing a pastor worship anything like that. Am I just not remembering correctly or do apostolic pastors worship differently than the people who they pastor?

Pastors tend not to do it because they watch the crowd and have to deal with visitors.

Hm-m-m-m-m Obviously you haven't been to CLC in Stockton in the past 9 years.... :bliss:bliss Pretty much the entire Pastoral Staff gets with it from time to time - including the Sr. Pastor.

So why don't people follow his example? I mean he's living an overcoming, spirit filled life without doing all that right? Surely they can too! In fact the pastor is generally one of the closest people in the church to God, or at least that is the perception. So in order to be as close to God as the pastor is people should try do like him right? A follow his example kind of thing?

From time to time? Does that mean they don't do it nearly as often as the laypeople?

EDIT: Besides, one church that functions that way doesn't disprove my point... But if you would say that church is typical for most apostolic churches then we might be on to something.

My pastor leaves the platform during praise and worship and participates with everyone else--and sometimes even if no one else is participating. He's the praise team's biggest supporter!!!!! :thumbsup

No one in our church really does anything "extreme", although occasionally there are a few wild hairs.

It's not a competition, jfrog. I would expect a Pastor to praise God in their own way, just like anyone else. If they happen to have a quiet, reserved personality, that will be often reflected in the way they worship God.

It's rare that I see a church where 100% of the people are praising God in the same way at the same time. Why focus on what the pastor is or isn't doing?

However--I do agree that it's the pastor's job to keep order, so having a watchful eye isn't a bad thing.

In every church I've ever attended, the pastors participated in the worship in the same manner as everyone else. I've seen them run, jump and dance frequently.

This is true, its not a competition, but it's never usually preached in pentecostal churches to worship in a quite reserved type way. Then you have many pastors worshipping in that quite reserved type way.

I'm just saying when's the last time you heard that quite reserved type worship preached on as a valid just as biblical and good of a way to worship as the running/shouting/dancing/whatever else. I don't think I ever heard that message once ;)
