Restless Leg Syndrome and Feeling After the Spirit
RLS - I used to have it, but mostly only in church...
It seems very often when folks "seek after the Spirit" or "concentrate on worship" they have rapid repetitive motions going on in their limbs. I find this curious, even though I once participated in it. I well remember bouncing at least one leg all the time when actively participating in prayer and worship. For me it seemed the emotion and mechanics were nearly inseparable from the prayer and praise. Now I find I am actually thinking about what I am saying and putting more purpose into the words. It's strange... I can no longer identify with the RLS mode of worship. I have actually tried to worship that way again - it seemed so weird. I have observed others with RLS (or something similar) and it almost appears to be a compulsion. Have you seen this? |

BTW I am just using RLS as an catchy tag here. For some it's an arm or a hand or perhaps repetitive movements of the entire body.

I was just going to suggest a calcium/magnesium supplement for the RLS. Better and cheaper than pharmaceuticals, but...never mind. :)

Re: Restless Leg Syndrome and Feeling After the Sp
Here is a topic that is perhaps related in a way.
The PEFM "Twenty years ago I identified a part of the human anatomy unique to those of us in the Apostolic tradition. It’s that look of concentration, the furrowed brow, and the painful expression that is so often seen on the faces of Pentecostals during worship. I call it the Pentecostal facial muscle—the pefm for short." http://ninetyandnine.com/Archives/20040628/cover.htm |

(But it IS real... And it doesn't happen that often with me but when it does it will literally keep you up most of the night.) |
