Can Someone be "Apostolic" and Deny Christ is God?
Can someone be Apostolic and deny the Deity of Jesus Christ?
|
Re: Can Somsone be "Apostolic" and Deny Christ is
Absolutely not. That is what makes Apostolics Apostolic
|
Re: Can Somsone be "Apostolic" and Deny Christ is
even trinitarians don't deny the deity of Christ. You'd have to be Jehova's witness to do that. not sure what other groups do.

Re: Can Somsone be "Apostolic" and Deny Christ is
I think he means deny that Jesus is God.

Re: Can Somsone be "Apostolic" and Deny Christ is
Thats why I use a capital D. The Deity, not a deity like the JWs
|
Re: Can Somsone be "Apostolic" and Deny Christ is
The apostles believed that Jesus was God.

Re: Can Someone be "Apostolic" and Deny Christ is
One thousand times NO!
But since APOSTOLIC means abiding by the doctrine the apostles taught, and those who deny Jesus' deity think the apostles denied it, too, you will never get them to agree with our answers. :D Essentially, EVERYONE in ANY denomination thinks they're "apostolic." They all think they're beliefs were what the apostles proposed. |
Re: Can Someone be "Apostolic" and Deny Christ is
What if I asked "Can someone be Trinitarian and deny the Deity of Christ?"
It's amazing how many come to this forum saying they are Apostolic, Oneness Pentecostal, yet deny the core doctrine of it |

I was taught and used to believe that: "Jesus is the Father, Jesus is the Son, Jesus is the Holy Ghost, All three are One...." I can still hear them singing that song right now. I don't believe God is a committee, but the above does not agree with scripture as a whole. There is a brother in my church who compared Jesus to Superman. I disagreed with the comparison wholeheartedly. |

And the Holy Spirit is called "Christ in you" (Colossians 1:27); "the Spirit of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:19); "the Spirit of Jesus" (Acts 16:7); "the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:17); and Jesus did say that He was the Comforter who was with them but would also be the Comforter in them (John 14:16-18) So, isn't Jesus the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost? |
