I enjoyed this video. :) Thanks for posting it.

I especially appreciated that the pastor didn't try to teach this himself, but instead allowed an older woman to teach the younger women, which is a biblical concept.

I appreciate that, too, and I have an easier time accepting such specific teaching when it's from a woman.

I also agree with Scott that this was a very balanced view. This lady reinforced MODESTY, and gave examples of why it's important, and simply left it at that. She didn't try to twist scriptures to make them say something they're not. A very refreshing take on Christian modesty. :)

Even though it is from a woman to other women I may have to watch it since every other video I have viewed here somehow involves LS. I need to hear something based in a measure of sanity for once.

I phrased that very carefully, so as not to reveal my possibly stereotypical views of how men approach teaching about women's issues. :coffee2

*chest beating, roaring, "she makes me have bad thoughts", "she gave me the fruit", etc.*

"Blast it all, woman, put some clothes on!", and so on and so forth. :)

Nothing unique here... I've heard this many times in UPC churches.

"I don't want to see your boobs.."

"I don't want to see your midriff..."

"I don't want to see your 'upper legs..."

Personally, this is the easy way of teaching against a problem that is more than "head and shoulders knees and toes."

A con will say: well, who gives her the right to say what we don't want to see? And if she has that right, then why not "draw that line" farther out? Then we get this tidy list of rules from the man of God: no skirts above the knee, sleeves to the top of the elbow, etc....

Think about the problem -- if indeed a young girl is promiscuously showing off her body, and then let the Spirit help give us a way to deal with the problem, and not just the symptoms.
