Google Research help
I've been offered a temporary job doing research for a company. The pay is pretty good for a temporary job. The problem is that they don't really train you. They just give you a list of information to research, and you're pretty much on your own. They're having a bit of turn-over because people are having difficulty finding the info they need.
What they are researching is the square footage of certain buildings, or even parts of the building. For instance, hospitals, churches, etc. I think it's research for a real estate company. So, they give you an address of a facility, and you're supposed to find all of the pertinent info on the building. That's all I really know about the job right now. I'm going in tomorrow for a sample test to see how I do on it. The lady doing the hiring said she tried the test and quit in frustration. So, just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to find this type of info via Google. It would be a perfect job for me, since I enjoy researching, and I only want something temporary. But, I need to know how to research this type of info! |
Re: Google Research help
Two things come to mind:
1. The offer to train or reveal techniques will cost you some money, and the job will dissapear with your fee. 2. It is a "group" seeking possible targets...any number of reasons to try to find which buildings have pertenant information online. Now, as an AutoCAD draftsman for an HVAC/Security Building Automation control contractor, this information is in the control of the original architect, and is released in pieces on a need-to-know basis to sub-contractors...licensed contractors. In order to do this job, I was required to take a security license through the state (Illinois). Be careful. |
Re: Google Research help
This is a legit job. It's through a reputable temp agency. I'm not paying a fee.
It's just a 2-3 month job doing some research for a real estate company. And they don't really tell you how to find the info, they just want you to find it. |

As an example, this *might* be George Bush Sr's Houston residence... http://www.hcad.org/records/details....5E&bld=1&tab=3 |
Re: Google Research help
How 'bout a measuring tape? :D

Re: Google Research help
Sounds weird to me......if they need the info - just go to the bldg and measure it.
Trying to obtain it without doing that just sounds shady. |

Re: Google Research help
But seriously, looking online will be seriously less expensive and time consuming than a bunch of personal visits.
