News of Muslim Conversions
 

Today I received the August newsletter from TBN and it gave some exciting news about Muslim conversions. I have no idea how accurate these numbers are that are being reported and I don’t know how current the information is. The newsletter states that the numbers are a few years old.

Joel Rosenberg says, “More Muslims converted to faith in Jesus Christ over the past decade than at any other time in human history.”

In Iraq, thousands of new convert are being reported by evangelical pastors all over the country. 14 new churches have been opened in Baghdad alone, with dozens more in Kurdistan --some with 500 to 800 members. Also, more than one million Bibles shipped into the country in recent years have not even come close to the demand. Pastors report that Iraqis are snatching them up so fast they constantly need more Bibles.

Some reports say that at least one million Egyptians have turned to Christ in recent years. The Egyptian Bible Society told Mr. Rosenberg that they used to sell about 3,000 copies a year of the Jesus film back in the 1990’s. But in recent years they sold 600,000 copies, plus 750,000 copies of the Bible on tape in the Arabic language and about half a million copies of the Arabic New Testament.

In Afghanistan there were only 17 known converts to Christ before the September 11, 2001 tragedy but now more than 10,000 converts are reported, along with dozens of baptisms each week.

In Kazakhstan there were only 3 known Christians in 1990, but today there are more than 15,000.

In the Sudan, in spite of civil war and radical terrorism, more than 5 million have turned to Christ in the last decade. Bible training is being conducted in caves for safety in order to raise up new pastors to shepherd the large number of souls coming to Christ daily.

In Uzbekistan there were no known Christians in 1990 but now more than 30,000.

In Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad vows to wipe Israel off the map but 500 known Christians in 1979 have grown to over more than one million, most of whom meet in underground house churches.

A leading Saudi cleric appeared on a live interview on Al Jazeera satellite television to confirm that Muslims are converting to Jesus in alarming numbers. He stated, “In every hour, 667 Muslims convert to Christianity.” He went on to say, “Every day, 16,000 Muslims convert to Christianity,” When the stunned interviewer interrupted and said, “Hold on! Let me clarify. Do we have 6 million converting from Islam to Christianity?” “Every year,” the cleric answered and then added, “a tragedy has happened.”
