Doctorgate II: E Tu Dr. Jeffers?

On the heels of the doctorate scandal involving Lee Stoneking, Art Wilson and Kal Boora ....

This is the link to the institute from which Dr. Jeffers, Oneness preacher/evangelist, received his doctorate.

http://www.parkersburgbiblecollege.com/Branches.htm

Quote:

"Dr. Jeffers is the son of Gerald Jeffers and the late Pastor Mae Jeffers of Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts. He is a dynamic speaker who was dedicated to the Lord before birth by his praying mother. She gave him back to the Lord like Hannah did to Samuel saying “If you give me a man child, then I will give him unto the Lord all the days of his life.”

At the age of nine, Dr. Jeffers was baptized in Jesus Name and the Lord filled him with the Holy Ghost. By the age of 12, he spoke his first sermon and by age 14 he was speaking regularly. Dr. Jeffers graduated from Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School and the Lord led him on to Bible College. He received his Doctorate in Christian Counseling from the University of Biblical Studies in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

Dr. Jeffers is truly an anointed preacher led by the Spirit. He is an international evangelist who has been commissioned to preach the mind of God to His people."

It is also unclear where Dr. Jeffers ever attained a bachelor's or master's at "Bible College" according to this Capital Community's bio.

Parkway appears to have no credible accreditation and has links to the Asst. Supt. of West Virginia, Pastor Ralph Tisdale.

Despite Parkway College's listed requirements:

Quote:

Prerequisite requirements for degree-seeking students vary according to degree level. Undergraduate applicants are required to have a high school diploma or have completed the General Education Development (GED) test. Applicants for a master's level program must have an earned bachelor's degree from an approved school. Applicants to the doctoral programs must have a master's degree of at least 32 semester credit hours from an approved school. Additional, more specific prerequisites may apply to individual programs.
One has to wonder if Dr. Gerald Jeffers received his doctorate in the same manner a Bishop Dunn received his from the President of the school, Dr. Joe L. Nelson?

Quote:

Bishop S A Dunn was honoured by Bethel Institute of Biblical Studies (Great Britain) and Parkersburg Bible College of West Virginia (USA) with a PhD in recognition of his life work and ministry. This was not as Dr Nelson emphatically stated an ‘honorary degree, it is an earned degree’. It is the result of qualifying for the 5 academic modules necessary for the award of a doctorate based on an assessment of Bishop’s writings (e.g. ‘Jehovah God in the Old Testament is Jesus Christ in the New Testament’), tapes of his international radio ministry ‘The Voice of Holiness’, and other church literature cataloging Bishop’s life work (e.g. Bethel Golden Jubilee Booklet, written to catalogue Bethel’s first 50 years).

Doctorates for a lifetime of work ... where have we heard that before?

Parkway's past stance on Accreditation and its accreditation through the ALJC:

Accreditation
Quote:

This ministry is geared for higher education to better qualify individuals who feel the call of God on their lives. PBC has been accredited by the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ Accreditation Department.

For a better understanding of the term "accreditation", it should be realized that accreditation is not synonymous with quality. Only those that understand the philosophy of church-and-state-separation and "constitutional accommodation" can truly understand the complex issues behind accreditation.

We are PBC are very thankful even though our convictions are very strong on church-and-state-separation that God has allowed our Bible College to be accepted across the nation and internationally. Students are using our degrees to gain employment in the fields of Education, Counseling, Social Work, Administrative and many other professions.

The ALJC has an Accreditation Department?????? REALLY?????

Not quality? And who ever said accredited bodies are state run?

The 'standards crowd' sometimes abhors standards ... it's all very odd.

It ain't the Lord's fault, Mikey.

Starting a college can be a very profitable enterprise for all involved.

Exactly how many years are you from a college degree? It appears that you are showing jealousy of some men with some letters. No name schools at that.
