Hmmm ... wondering about GLOBAL?? Need more info.
 

So, I have had people asking me if I am a part of GLOBAL. I have been so out of the loop and busy planting our church the last two years that I had no idea what it even was. After checking it out last night, I must admit I am impressed with what I have seen thus far.
Any more insight??? Lol ... not even sure they would want me in GLOBAL ... I noticed you have to have a sponsor to even fill out an application. But can anyone give me a little more background or insight???

Hi Josh,

It's a great ministerial network ... it was started by LH Hardwick ... and received an influx of Oneness guys after the Westberg Resolution passed in 1992. I recommend you read Christianity Without The Cross for more info on this schism.

Global is seeing a huge influx of "libs" in the last couple of years ... especially under the direction of Scott Jones ... who pastors here in Humble, Texas.

A couple of years ago I recommended a minister in TX who was unhappy with the UPC look into Global. I gave him the website and I think he made a couple of attempts to contact people but never got a response and he gave up.

I think they are trying to get serious again with some new leadership. A young minister who has a home missions church in his home near here dropped out of the UPC and joined Global around the first of this year. He seems happy with it.

It may be too "global" for some because of the broadness of their fellowship.
