Prayer Request and Praise Report

Today I had an accident. After 23 plus years and nearly twenty thousand chimneys I had my first serious (certainly potentially so) fall. I fell seven or eight feet and landed on a ladder rail with my back. The rail of the ladder was bent. I have a fractured vertebrae and a lot of bruising on my leg as well.

I give praise knowing the mishap could have been worse - and potentially much worse...

Please pray these morphine shots never wear off!

Seriously my friends, I covet your prayers, and thank you in advance.

Blessings, Steve Hoover

Said a prayer for you... should we pray for that ladder, too, or are you laying it to rest?

Seriously, though, I pray that the fracture isn't bad and that it heals well and quickly. I'm glad you weren't hurt any worse, too.

This is the embarrassing part. Many, many homeowners offer their ladders and even have them set up when we get there. It is our standard operating procedure to politely decline and get our own ladders. This one seemed different and the homeowner was adamant that I use the ladder he prepared and set on the deck. I inspected the ladder and against my better judgement agreed to use it. I noticed the deck was freshly stained... what I did not realize however, was that the rubber feet on the ladder were also coated with the the stain and the there was no grip at all onto the deck.

I will definitely learn from this. Not all but certainly most accidents can be prevented.

Again, I am so thankful my injuries aren't worse than they are.
TYJ!

Agreeing with Crakjak, in Jesus Name!

July 10,2008, our brother, just 17 mos younger than I, was trimming his trees and fell from an 8 ft ladder. His pelvis was broken in three places, not counting several tiny fractures. He was in the hospital for awhile, had some home health therapy, but made a miracleous recovery. He will be 70 yrs in Feb. 11., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. It COULD have been so different BUT GOD....! The doctors said he COULD have been paralyzed or died. If you saw James you would not know he had ever fallen from an 8 ft ladder on a hot summer day in July 2008. TO OUR GREAT LORD GOD BE ALL THE PRAISE, HONOR AND GLORY!
