NPR extremist over reactor apologizes.

Quote:

Oh, crikey. This didn’t just happen, did it?

Yes. It. Did. From the NPR website:

NPR just released this statement:

“I spoke hastily and I apologize to Juan and others for my thoughtless remark.”
That follows, as you’ll see below, her comment earlier today that now-former NPR news analyst Juan Williams should have kept his feelings about Muslims between himself and “his psychiatrist or his publicist.”

Our original post:

Quote:

Fired NPR news analyst Juan Williams should have kept his feeling about Muslims between himself and “his psychiatrist or his publicist,” the network’s CEO told an audience at the Atlanta Press Club earlier today.
The Associated Press adds that:

Schiller said Williams’ firing is not a reflection of his comments (on Fox News Channel) that he gets nervous when he sees people in Muslim garb on an airplane. She said she has no problem with people taking controversial positions, but that such opinions should not come from NPR reporters or news analysts. Williams, Schiller said, is a news analyst, not a commentator or columnist.

And, she said the firing came after “several cases” of Williams veering from journalistic ethics.
It;s about veering from journalistic ethics or that is code for offending soros.

I apologize to Bros and sisters in Christ. I and I alone on this board am guilty of buying sponsorship on NPR. It will never happen again.

Veering reffered to is veering that gets Muslims wee weed up.

Schiller acted stupidly and tomorrow may be a bad day for her.

Juan tells the news he was fired because he didn't fit in their box (NPR)

Quote:

"I don't fit in their box," Williams told O'Reilly. "I'm not predictable, black, liberal. And let me tell you something else, you were exactly right when you said you know what this comes down to, they were looking for a reason to get rid of me because I'm appearing on Fox News. They don't want me talking to you."

The cable news channel assailed NPR for much of the evening while leading Republicans called for the U.S. Congress to cut off federal funding for NPR News. One of the first was former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, himself a paid Fox commentator.

"It is an act of total censorship," Gingrich said. "I think that the U.S. Congress should investigate NPR and consider cutting off their money."

Re: NPR extremist over reactor apologizes.

NPR blog is near 8,000 comments. Nearly all are negative about NPR.

Is NPR the next ACORN or USDA?
