Bush Book: 2 Mil in 1 Month, Clinton's: 6 Yrs.
From "The Mail":
For someone who mangled words on a regular basis, it's an impressive feat. Former U.S. President George W Bush's memoir has sold an astonishing two million copies since it was released in early November - and it's not even in paperback yet. "Decision Points", published both in hardcover and e-book form, is flying off the shelves, the Crown Publishing Group says. By contrast, former president Bill Clinton's memoir, "My Life", has logged sales of 2.2 million copies since it was first published in 2004. A spokesman for Crown called the performance remarkable. He claimed he could not think of any other hardcover nonfiction books in 2010 that had sold even one million copies, much less two. In "Decision Points" Mr. Bush recounts the inner workings of the White House and his administration following the September 11 attacks, including decisions that led to the wars in Afghanistan in Iraq. He recounts parts of his childhood, speaks lovingly of his family and wife, and wonders about how history will judge him... As for whether there are any of the infamous Bushisms in it - you'll have to read it to find out. |

It is a great read. It should be required in classrooms.

Y'all don't know nuthin'
Dubya is functionally illiterate and could not write a book. Someone wrote that for him and he put his name on it. I know this because I read it on AFF. :jolly |

Great book. I have a signed copy and an ebook as well. Excellent read. Quite informative.
Also, another book that I recommend, that I just finished reading on my ipad, is David Limbaugh's "Crimes Against Liberty." For the anti-Limbaugh crowd, forget he's Rush's brother and read with an open mind and you'll be surprised at what he has to say. He takes a large section in the back of the book giving the sources for all of his information. Happy New Year to all of the AFF'ers. Been Thinkin |

I just love the fact that the hated W could generate more excitement about his book than the beloved, master politician and wordsmith Slick Willy---almost surpassing him in total sales in less than two months! I guess it dispells the notion that conservatives are ignorant Neanderthals that don't read, while the liberal left are the academics, the thinking class, the intelligensia of our society! HAHAHA what a joke!

"Intelligensia" You mean the ones that take quotes from Tina Fey as if they came from Governor Palin? |

I really have enjoyed reading W's book, very glad to invest in his future, I believe he did what he believed was best for the country even though the left was screaming profanity at him the whole way.
I also love the way he views life, "I did what I believe was best, it was an honor to serve, I am no longer the president, and I am very content with that." I am not adjusting to being "the elder statesman", that would mean I would be commenting about current affairs, I am adjusting to being "an elder person". "History will judge my presidency, and I am very content that I will not be around when that happens." "I have no comments concerning the current adminstration". Period. "I miss the perts of being president, but not the job", "I now have to pick up Barney's poop", the president did not have to do that." Heh, Heh, Heh!!!! |

You know, I just "Been Thinkin'"...... there is a scripture that causes me pause. Mt 12:36* But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
Is it possible that all of the mean, untrue things that were said about Pres. George W. Bush might fall into this category of "idle words", and will be brought to the forefront in the day of judgement, and all of those who so blatantly lied about this man will give account? Of course I understand Mr. Libs... the same applies to any lies about the current Pres. and might fall into the same judgement. But, I think all of the Obama tales are true!! :gotcha Just wondering.... Been Thinkin |
