The New Deterrent?

Is this the new deterrent to keep people from questioning and studying and making sure what they are living is actually biblical?

"Eve studied the fruit before she desired it. Focus on something long enough and you'll feel like you can't live without it. Ignore sin...focus on righteousness." (Rob McKee)

Or is this just a simple exhortation to tell people to check their hearts? And did Eve actually "study" the fruit? These and more questions, on the next...

The doctrine of focusing is not new ... DKB teaches it ...

For example, he believes laying hair is a legitimate form of focusing faith.

Zen Apostolicism.

Where did he get that Eve studied the fruit?

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. Genesis 3:6 KJV

If you focus on righteousness you will be holy ... yes sir ....

Zone in ... push .... let the force guide you ...

More works based teaching from the works based paradigm ... it permeates in so much of their theology and practical living.

How about surrendering? Relying? Trusting ... let go and let God.

You've heard of "beer goggles"? Wonder if it works for doctrines, too.

I've definitely heard that one preached before. Of course the text was "Be not drunk with wine, but be filled with the Spirit." The title "God's drunkards."

Drunk people love everyone, show no inhibition or fear, give liberally, etc... Then at one point, the preacher referred to "spiritual beer goggles." No kidding.
