Sometimes The Squeaky Wheel Does Get Greased

I just went through an interesting experience. Back on 12/21 I ordered a custom configured computer from a major computer manufacturer who used to build their computers in the USA but now contracts for a third party to build them in Mexico.

In the past I have never waited more than four days to receive a computer from them so I was surprised when I ordered it and the estimated deliver date was 1/13/11, three weeks from when I ordered. I didn't like it but could live with it.

A few days before 1/13 my order showed updated with a new delivery date of 1/19, essentially one month from the order date. I was very unhappy but again could live with it. A few days before that delivery date the order updated to show a new delivery date of 1/25/11, essentially five weeks from my order date. That I could not handle.

I contacted customer service and got a vague email that just said the order was in production and delayed. I then googled for the email of the CEO of the company. I actually knew one email address for him but found an odd one that the source claimed was one that went to him personally.

Friday morning I emailed that address explaining my situation and asking for help. About 2 pm that afternoon I received a call from someone on the "Executive Team" of this Computer manufacturer. We discussed my situation and she gave me her name and cell phone number.

It was a weird problem I won't get into here but she had to do a lot of work but managed to find a way to get me my computer and it is being sent priority overnight and will be here tomorrow!

So while initially disappointed in the company I do have to say once I reached the executive office they sure executed well to insure customer satisfaction!

HAHA!!! All of our computers come from...hell. :p

They are usually very punctual with deliveries (they have been for us, anyway), so that does seem odd. I'm glad they were able to resolve your delivery issue.

Squeak, squeak!

Had that problem recently with a pair of glasses. Thought I was going to have to use that term that rhymes with Dell! Oops!

When the desktops were made in the USA I had a contact in the company who could go in and put my order at the top of the list. I could order a computer one day and most times it delivered the next day. The longest I waited when I had him do this was 2 1/2 days.

Now that they are manufactured in Juarez Mexico by a third party it appears it is a completely different story. They do have preconfigured ones that ship within 24 hours but custom configured ones don't.

I just hope the quality of the computer has not gone down. I am about to find out! Can't wait to get my six core, 12 gig RAM, sys with the 2tb hard drive! We do high definition video editin on Sony Veas Pro and those six cores are going to make our life a lot easier.

For the last couple of years my family has been taking our glasses prescriptions and getting our PD measurement then ordering our glasses online from Hong Kong.

I paid $50 for bifocals, $30 for regular glasses. My wife and daughter are paying $7.00-$20.00 for various color classy glasses to go with various color clothes.

So far they have been great. We all do have a slight twitch in our left eyes but it is hardly noticable. LOL

Oh, and 1 gig graphics card! It can handle two full streams of 1080p high definition video simultaneously.

I am like a kid in a candy store. Or a CC1 in a candy store that has chocolate.

It hasn't caused your eyes to be closer together has it? Now if there's someone from the far east on here I've had it! lol
