What was your favorite Easter service ever? Why was it your favorite? What elements were present?

What is a beautiful way to celebrate the culmination of a season beginning with Lent, the bloodiness of Maudy Thursday, the death of Good Friday, the darkness in Black Saturday and the crescendo of Resurrection Sunday.

What was my favorite Easter service ever? The one Easter that I sang and played piano. The song was The Prodigal Son by Keith Green. At a UPC church. That was about 15 years ago.

I attended Arphaxad's church. Had been attending off and on. The church had a play. I do not remember the title. This was the best Easter service probably 'cos the presence of God touched me that night and I began to walk with the Lord again.

We have typically done The Messiah drama - that my wife directed. It has some great memories with close to 1500 non members attending from the community. We had 50 personal friends come to experience it.

This year in particular there is no drama, and I am not really privy to any plans.

Not enough controversy in this thread to attract attention :)

One time, I attended an outdoor Easter service (Sunrise Service).

Another time, I recall us having a large baptismal service. It was a beautiful picture of resurrection.

I can't say there has been a favorite. But, I do remember attending a Maundy Thursday Service with my friend at the Episcopal Church. I found the service both moving and informative.

I grew up in the Episcopal Church. Very beautiful services, indeed.
