13 DEAD IN Brazil SHOOTING
 
A gunman opened fire at an elementary school in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday and at least 13 people were killed, including the shooter.

It was not clear whether the gunman, who is believed to be a former student at the school, shot himself or was killed by police.

At least 20 people, including children, were wounded in the shooting at the school for students aged 10 to 15, fire department spokesman Evandro Bezerra told the Globo tele.

I think he was an ex student and was 23 years old....so sad...

Heartbreaking. These things are so hard to understand.

Locally, few months ago an 11 yr old boy, his father, grandfather, and a close uncle went out on the river for the night to celebrate the boy's 11th birthday. The boat capsized and they ALL drowned in the icy waters.

What a horrible thing. It would be so hard to make sense of such tragedy.
