Have any of you guys heard of slamplanet?

I was able to be in one of the youth services at The Pentecostals of West Monroe not to long ago. There were close to 350 youth in attendance! This was on a Wednesday night. Everything from the music to the preaching to the offering ROCKED!

They have had over 140 receive the Holy Ghost in 06.

I was given a tour and had tons of questions answered by one of their youth volunteers. Hopefully, I will learn more from these exceptional people in the future.

Here is their website.

You are like the tenth person to ask me that. Everyone looked modest to me. Most of the staff looked like your typical pentecostal.

It did rock. The music was not too heavy or anything but it did have an edge.

Yah, that's the most important question. Ignore the students getting baptized and receiving the HG. Ignore the fact that one student ministry is actively involved in the community and regularly has over 350 students at a service instead of on the streets, at parties or elsewhere.

With this mentality no wonder most UPC churches have barely any students in their student ministries. I'm glad there are student ministries lately that have broken out of the mold and have shown that yes, you ~can~ have rockin' music, fx lighting, a good time and have kids get baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost.

This is Bro. Fosters student group. His son, Jeremy Foster was @ my church this past weekend. We had several get baptized and receive the Holy Ghost. We're hoping to have him back in the fall or winter for a longer student revival.

The times are changing. I am starting to see more and more UPC churches allow greater freedom with youth services and the like. Also, pastors who realize that allowing young people to worship in a way that they can enjoy is important.

Our weekly youth service is the highlight of my week. We have almost as many kids and youth in their own services as the adults do.
