Vets, Mental Health Costs & The Constitution
Below is a link to an article that is a bittersweet vindication for me and for the thousands of other combat Veterans who look to the VA for mental healthcare.
It's bittersweet in that when you're told that your leg is healed, you now know that the pain that still radiates through your leg is not just imaginary. Of course, the whole sitaution is so problematic for the country-- strategically, financially, and maybe even morally. http://battleland.blogs.time.com/201...onstitutional/ |

Most of the vet psych problems can be cured by the Healer. The healer can cure all diseases. I need to word that better. Most vets that have psych problems have problems only Jesus can cure. We used to say only surgeons cure. Orthopods can open and fixate a compound fracture. A psychiatrist can remove a problem from your head and straighten a single thing. |

Even when a guy has Christ in his life, there are things that are so very difficult to simply get over. Then there's that song that comes to mind, "He never promised that the load would not be heavy...", but everything seems so senseless at times. |

Then there are htose who don't have Christ and I can't even imagine how they are able to find their way.
The article speaks of the Constitutional mandate to provide adequate mental health care for Veterans, implying that what is being provided now is subpar, and not Constitutional. |
