What happened to the body of Jesus

Another question from my students...what happened to his body after he arose?

Turned into an incorruptible, spiritual, glorified body.

1Co 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Re: What happened to the body of Jesus

Jesus body remained in the state of a spiritual body since the moment He resurrected from the dead. Able to appear and disappear and move in and out of the spiritual realm and the natural realm. We will see the same body they saw ascend into Glory one day! Jesus did not abandon that body from the tomb, and nothing in the bible says He did. 1 Cor 15 says the body with which He resurrected is the firstfruits (beginning of many more like it) of the resurrection. FIRSTFRUITS is solely a time and chronological issue -- first of many identicals to follow. His resurrection is the precursor and precedent for our own. Phil 3:21 states the manner in which He was raised is the same manner in which we shall be raised in very body.

That's the way I understand it also.

This is why Stephen could SEE Jesus AT the right hand of the Father, right? It confused me when I was always told it was just a figure of speech. So Stephen saw God and Jesus?

Surely nobody's saying that a 90 year old person will still have the physical appearance of a 90 year old and a 1 day old person will have the physical appearance of a 1 day old person in their glorified spiritual body.

Jesus' body was simply a spiritual glorified body and at times He chose to look as He looked when he lived on the earth, but other times chose to look completely different.

I never substantiated my claim upon what stephen did or did not see. Right hand means place of power, not Right physical side of another. Stephen saw Jesus in the place of power. Not sure of your point.

Fact remains, Jesus arose in a spiritual body and nothing as said about abandoning it.
