ALthough I do not see many movies, here was an interesting review from one of my favorite commentators.

It turns out that the evil entity in this particular Green Lantern movie was some glob named Parallax. Apparently Parallax feeds on fear. The more fear Parallax can absorb from its victims the stronger Parallax becomes. Parallax apparently poses little threat to those without fear.

And just who in our body politics gains strength from fear? That would be the Democrat Party. Tell people they’re going to lose their Social Security. Wizened citizens become afraid and the Democrat Party become stronger. Tell people that the Republicans want to end Medicare; they want old people to get sick and die; and, in fact, they push old ladies off cliffs in wheelchairs – people become afraid and the Democrat Party becomes stronger.
I think it’s commendable for the Hollywood film industry to give us this wonderful object lesson as the election season heats up. Just remember --- Barack Obama is Parallax.

the sad reality is that republicans do want to end medicare and privatize social security.

And it could have done worst than has been done???????

Social Security over the last 60 years in the private sector would have gained an average of 12% per year, if all of the gains had been reinvested we would not have a bankrupt SS today.

If the demo's hadn't supported a culture of death in the aborting of over 50 million unborn, the country would have a thriving population growth that could support the SS program.

If the resources of this country had not been squandered by the ignorant policies of those that go to DC to get rich, if we had had statesmen instead of politicians this country would still be the richest and greatest country in the world.

Evil men will do anything, no restraint, no concern with what is good or right, therefore human government always eventually fail!!!!

But Jesus says, "Fear NOT, for I have overcome the world", HE is destined to redeem it all.

DM - what realists want to do is to put the programs on a sustainable path for the future.
There is not one currently.
And if you believe that Republicans want to cut off medical care and income to Seniors, you have been drinking too much kool-aid.
Now give me a credible source for your allegation.

Dedicated Mind either knowingly distorts the truth to fear-monger or he actually believes the mischaracterizations the Dems and liberal media fees the public.

BO KNOWS that Paul Ryan's plan did NOTHING to Medicare for those 55+ but still stated definitively that was what his plan was going to do. That's all they got---lies and distortions.

So DEADicated MIME---what grand plan do the Demos have? Raise taxes? Think about it---"we weren't good stewards of what you gave us the past 60 years, so now you have to pay to fix it!" Give me a break. Your blind loyalty to a man, a cause and a party and millions like you are the reason this country is going to lose everything we've hoped for all our lives!

well... "end mdeicare" isnt exaclty true. Republicans want to "replace" a broken and bankrupt system with something sustainable and managable for everyone.


As for Social Security, you bet! We certainly do want to privatize it! As it is now, the only thing SS does for those who must rely on it is secure poverty.

a privitized system would be vastly better than what we have now.



again, FEAR is the only weapon of the left.
